I’m sure you’ve heard that we’re in a “seller’s market.” But just because the market has tipped in the seller’s favor doesn’t mean you should sell on your own! Trusting a REALTOR® with the sale of your home not only puts someone in your corner but can be a vital resource. From navigating multiple offers to choosing the best price for your home, here are three reasons why you should work with a REALTOR®.

Navigating Multiple Offers

In a hot market like this, you’re bound to find yourself in a situation where you receive multiple offers on your home. But how do you know which offer is right for you? Your gut might say the highest offer is the best - but if you had a REALTOR® to consult, they might disagree.

Choosing the right offer not only comes down to price. As your real estate agent, I always counsel to consider the contract terms, buyer qualifications, and the buyer’s motivation. After all, a high offer means nothing if the buyer can’t follow through.

Time is Money

When you sell by owner, you have to sacrifice a substantial amount of time. Think about it - you need to clean your home, stage it, figure out pricing, get photography, and so much more. And when you finally have your home on the market, you’ll need to schedule showings too! Yes, selling your home takes a lot of time - especially when you’re selling it yourself.

If you sell your home on your own, you might think that you’ll save some money by avoiding a REALTOR®’s commission. Well, think again! According to Upnest, on average, homes sold by agents get $295,000 compared to $217,900 for FSBO. So while you think you’re saving money by avoiding that 1.5-3% - you’re not.

REALTORS® are experts in pricing your home and negotiating with potential buyers. They know how to properly market your home and navigate through the complexities of real estate.
