How to Love (or List) Your Home

Love is in the air, and I’m not talking about romantic relationships. No, I want to talk about loving your home. Loving your home can take a little TLC, but it’s worth it!

And if you don’t love your home? You can just list it! So let’s talk about ways to show your home some love or get it ready for sale.

Bring in the Light

One of the quickest ways to show your home some love is to brighten it up. Try warm white LED bulbs for a cozy and welcoming space and cool white bulbs for spaces that are more task-focused.

Thinking of selling? Updating your lighting is a great way to literally shed a light on your home. After all, potential buyers want to really be able to see your home, and updated lighting accomplishes that.

A Fresh Coat of Paint

Breathe new life into your home with a fresh coat of paint. And I’m not talking about something safe and “on trend,” but think of a color that’ll really make you happy! Afraid of commitment? Then start small with your front door or just an accent wall.

If you’re selling your home, a fresh coat of paint can really make a difference. You can up your curb appeal by painting your front door or opt for the inside of your home to elevate your design.

Above All - Focus on One Room at a Time

Trust me, the quickest way to fall out of love with your home is to overwhelm yourself with a long list of projects. Instead of adding more stress to your life, focus on one room at a time by making small updates or working yourself up to bigger projects. After all, falling in love can be a slow and steady process!

When preparing your home for sale, the same rule should apply. Try focusing on decluttering a junk room, then move on to a fresh coat of paint in that room, replacing hardware, etc. The point here is to accomplish something but not to try to accomplish everything at one time.
