Home Selling Checklist: 5 Tips for a Fast Sale

There’s a lot you can do before your real estate agent pops that “For Sale” sign in your yard. While they’re rolling up their sleeves, gearing up for the sale of your house - why not enlist these quick tips? Trust me, you’ll get one step closer to the most bang for your buck on closing day!

Cut the Clutter
Be honest, is your home a little cluttered? When a potential buyer sees your home, you want them to be able to see themselves living there. That’s why it’s so important to cut the clutter so buyers can really see how beautiful your home is! Pick a room and start editing it down by removing excess furniture, boxes, and anything else that doesn’t add to the ambiance.

Make Repairs
It may be a "seller's market," but that doesn't mean you shouldn't make a few repairs! You can start small with this one by patching holes, fixing the loose faucet, or what about finally putting in that last piece of baseboards missing. Or you can kick it up a notch by applying fresh coats of paint, replacing carpets, or upgrading finishes.

Deep Clean
Have you ever heard the expression, "A clean house is a happy home"? The same goes for selling your house! You want it sparkling for showings, so make sure to clean, clean, clean. You can bring in a company to do a deep clean and then pledge to clean once a week or before each showing, so it’s positively sparking for potential buyers!

Consider Staging
I’m all about expressing yourself in home design, but potential buyers may not relate to your style. Remember, it’s about taking yourself out of the space so prospective buyers can see themselves in it. And that’s why home staging is so necessary! It can give your home new life with perfectly placed pieces. You can lean on your agent for tips on rearranging or ask them for recommendations for home stagers!

Remember Curb Appeal
Last but not least - curb appeal! It’s the first impression of your home that buyers will get, and you want it to be a good one. Easy fixes include pressure washing, a little yard maintenance, or even repainting your front door. You’d be surprised how far just a little bit of work can go!
